Wish Upon. After Annabelle, John R. Leonetti directs another horror film

Wish Upon is directed by John R. Leonetti, the same of “Annabelle” and cinematographer for other horror and terror movies like Piranha 3D, The Conjuring, Insidious 2 and I Know Who Killed Me.

Wish Upon is a supernatural film that also matches into horror thriller genre. It is starring Joey King, whom we saw in “The Conjuring” as Christine, one of the haunted girls in the ghost house of one the cases of Warren files.

In this new horror film, King is Claire Shannon, a 17 years old girl who is trying to resist the hell that has become her school together to her friends Meredith and June. One day his father (Ryan Philippe) gives her an old musical box that has a note that promises to become real all wishes. Nothing to lose, she decides to try with the big surprise that her first wish coming true. It’s a matter of time Claire asks the rest of her wishes: money, popularity and the boy of her dreams. Everything is perfect now until people around her begins to die in a terrific ways, so she realizes an evil entity lives in the box, and it is behind all deaths. Before another blood sacrifice, she needs to get rid of that box.

The story was written by Barbara Marshall and it made part of the famous 2015 Black List of screenplays. Production company Broad Green Pictures recovered it and filmed in fall of last year.

With a change of release date, we have the new date finally: next July 14th worldwide. After the bloody first trailer we knew few weeks ago, production has released a clip where we see to Claire talking with a nervous classmate who warns her about the creepy note in the box: “When the music ends, the blood price is paid”.
