Spanish director Luis Prieto can premiere (finally) his thriller Kidnap starring Halle Berry
Spanish director of “Pusher” returns to thriller genre with the film Kidnap starring Halle Berry.
Following the crisis of distributor Relativity in 2015, the feature film had to cancel the release in theaters five times. With the arrival of Aviron Pictures as new distributor a new release date has been set in US: next 4th August.
Kidnap was filmed in New Orleans, Louisiana mostly in 2014 and where Berry performances Karla Dyson, a mother that figures out a plan to try to get her son back.
A peaceful afternoon in the park becomes into a nightmare when the son of single mother Karla Dyson disappears suddenly. Without a mobile and knowing she can’t waste any minute and wait for police help, she takes her car and figures out a plan to find the whereabout of kidnappers.
You realize that this plot seems to be contemplated for a male character, but fortunately is Berry who will serve as a heroine mother in this story with thriller tone that intends to offer a frenetic pace movie where this character is prepared to make whatever is necessary and even to lose everything to bring her son back (obviously).
Kidnap appeared on Berry’s career two years later of “The Call”, a thriller she starred in 2013, a box-office successful and unpretentious movie but so effective where she performances to Jordan, a veteran operator at 911 service with some traumas of the past that should face them when a young girl makes a call to inform she has been kidnapped and is into the trunk of a moving car. She has to put all her experiences and genius at the serve of this case in order to police can find and rescue this girl safe. With this entertainment film Berry got a nomination at the Saturn Awards and Bet Awards. Besides this production, we can see the actress on “Kingsman: The Golden Circle” this year and “Kings”, a romantic film starring Daniel Craig that is being filmed now.
Distributor Aviron Pictures has released a new poster and trailer with this announcement. We imagine as director as crew and cast are happy with the final release date of this movie that was written by Knate Gwalteny, writer of “X-Men New Mutants” and “Cardboard Boxer”.
